The 18th Century Brackenrigg Inn, an old coaching house, sits high up and proud above Ullswater with absolutely stunning views of England’s most picturesque Lake.
You’ll find us on the road from Pooley Bridge to Glenridding. From here you can explore the beautiful bays on the shore of Ullswater for a picnic, take the boat cruise from Pooley Bridge down the Lake to Glenridding, or just enjoy probably the finest scenery available from any Pub in the country.

Rambling Bookkeeper Bitter 4.1% – a traditional session ale. Mellow honey aroma with a moderate hop bitterness and a sweet roast malt taste.
Boathouse Blonde 3.8%- Our very first, and still a personal favourite, this blonde packs a punch. Hoppy nose with hints of grapefruit, bitter but refreshing taste.
Alfred’s Golden Ale 3.2% – A very popular light crisp golden ale, a balanced hop flavour packed with citrus aroma and a hint of spice.
Steamer Stout 4.4% – Uses espresso beans from Bruce & Luke’s Coffee in Carlisle, which makes for a rich tasting stout with notes of chocolate, caramel and dark fruits.
Aira Force IPA 5.9% – Loaded with a combination of 5 different hop varieties, this powerful IPA is bursting with flavour.
