Welcome to Burches Riding Centre. Situated in a semi-rural position, in a quiet country lane near Thundersley Common, with various bridleways and our own land where you can enjoy your riding.
Burches Riding Centre includes a Riding School and Livery Yard.
Our facilities include a Covered/Indoor floodlit ménage, Outdoor ménage, Jumps and Small X/country course and a horse riding equipment shop and refreshments.
We are a family run Riding Centre with the aim of making riding a safe and fun activity to enjoy for all ages, from children to adults.
Our Riding Centre has been established for 28yrs and although we have grown considerably over the years, we have always remained small and friendly.
The instructors always have your safety and enjoyment in mind and plan the lessons according to your ability, and whilst we encourage you to become competent riders, we understand that in most cases it is a hobby, so we make the programme varied.
We also have an exclusive partnership with Essex Horse and Pony Protection Society, re-schooling those horses that can go on to be successfully rehomed. We also specialise in helping people become first-time horse owners/ loaners or fosterers for the sanctuary, so if you would one day like to have your own horse, speak to us about how we can help you get prepared.
Your lesson will be in the ménage at the beginning of your training, with the aim of riding in the fields or hacking out on our nearby bridleways and there is always the opportunity to try some jumping . Horse Care Courses are also available.
There are lots of activities for the children starting with lessons then attending pony care and ride mornings, own your own pony days, fun days, picnic rides and riding and pony care tests
We hope you decide to try riding with us! We think you will find it a nice experience and a good way to enjoy the countryside, helping to improve your health and fitness at the same time.
