Stay in a Victorian Gothic Masterpiece

If these walls could speak… Horsted Place Hotel would have more than a few stories to tell. Whether it’s a relaxing weekend away, wedding or conference, you’ll soon discover why the likes of the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh were once regular visitors at our Uckfield hotel.

Revered for its Pugin architecture and grounds shaped by acclaimed landscape architect Sir Geoffrey Jellicoe, Horsted Place Hotel is truly a unique place to stay in East Sussex. It’s not just the history, architecture and gardens that will win your heart and soothe your soul. Our relaxed manner, personal service and unique dining experience combine to make this a real home from home.

Come, join us. Be our guest.

Our Rooms

Where laziness and lie-ins are par for the course

Look up ‘relaxation’ in the dictionary, and you could well find a picture of one of our rooms. Individually named, designed and decorated, each of them has stunning views – whether that’s of the gardens, grounds or the South Downs themselves.

Lounge or lie back and discover the benefits of our 24-hour room service, but be warned; breakfast in bed can become addictive!

Parva Restaurant

Where best of British meets pick of the produce

Whilst its name comes from the Latin for ‘small’, don’t think for a moment that our executive chef doesn’t think big when it comes to flavour.

Parva is all about unpretentious dining – modern British cooking using the very best seasonal produce, locally sourced wherever possible. From an à la carte menu that changes seasonally, to all day dining, light lunches and afternoon teas, Parva has something for every palate and occasion.

Wedding Venue

The perfect ceremony setting, whatever the season

There can be few better backdrops for weddings than Horsted Place Hotel.

Stunning Victorian Gothic architecture paired with beautiful grounds, it’s truly a wedding venue in East Sussex for all seasons. You can also book the hotel for exclusive use. Choose from three areas for your ceremony – the intimate Library, larger Garden Room or the Victorian-style Summerhouse… and how many couples can say they stayed in a Bridal Suite once frequented by the Queen and Prince Philip?

The Royal Lounge & Terrace

Where good times are had

One of our favourite rooms at Horsted Place Hotel, the former drawing room is a wonderfully welcoming space, a room to relax and take in the beautiful views across the gardens. We’ve renamed it in tribute to the Queen and Prince Philip, who were once frequent visitors to Horsted Place.

The Royal Lounge is where we host our all day menu and afternoon teas, while the Terrace is a popular spot in summer, whether it’s for drinks or dinner.

Sussex Meeting Rooms & Conference Venue

Motivational space to meet and network

Sometimes, a change of scenery can really help you focus when it comes to trying to find fresh ideas and direction. A different perspective can give you, well, a different perspective; a catalyst to spark your whole team’s creativity. Our meeting space and conference rooms will do just that.

Horsted Place Hotel is both an accessible and flexible venue for meetings, conferences and corporate events, whether on a daily or residential basis. The Morning Room and the Library are both perfect boardroom-style meeting venues, whilst the Terrace Room with its French doors onto the garden is an outstanding choice for larger groups or theatre-style presentations – making it an ideal conference venue in Sussex.
